Oral Health – Resources for Providers
The Commissioner of Public Health has selected the below Smiles for Life courses as the approved training program for a legally qualified practitioner of medicine, physician assistant, or advanced practice registered nurse to complete the Part 3 - Oral Health Assessment/Screening form as part of the health assessment record for school enrollment.

- X-ray Devices Registration: Per CG Statute 22a-150 all x-ray devices need to be registered with DEEP before they can be used, whether fixed or portable. Once they are registered, they will be issued a “Certificate of Use” which has to be renewed biennially. There is a fee per device. The devices do not need to be inspected for registration, but DEEP conducts random inspections. The portable devices need to be secured in a locked area when not in use to prevent unauthorized use.
