Branch Activity
Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires certain applications for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. CONSUMER CREDIT DIVISION ACTIVITY
Consent Orders
On September 17, 2014, the Commissioner entered into a Consent Order with CambioReal Incorporated (“CambioReal”), Newark, Delaware. The Consent Order was based on an investigation by the Consumer Credit Division. As a result of such investigation, the Commissioner alleged that CambioReal, during the period of January 2012 to the present, engaged in the business of money transmission without the required license, in violation of Section 36a-597(a) of the Connecticut General Statutes and Section 36a 597(a) of the 2014 Supplement to the General Statutes. As part of the Consent Order, CambioReal paid $5,000 as a civil penalty and $2,875 for back licensing fees.
On September 18, 2014, the Commissioner entered into a Consent Order with 1st American Home Loans, LLC (NMLS # 2960) (“1st American Home Loans”), Dayville, Connecticut. The Consent Order was based on an investigation by the Consumer Credit Division. As a result of such investigation, on April 22, 2014, the Commissioner issued a Notice of Intent to Issue Order to Cease and Desist, Notice of Intent to Impose Civil Penalty and Notice of Right to Hearing against 1st American Home Loans. The Commissioner alleged that 1st American Home Loans failed to file certain annual information required by mortgage call reports, in violation of Section 36a-534b(c)(3) of the Connecticut General Statutes and in violation of an order of the Commissioner. As part of the Consent Order, 1st American Home Loans paid $3,000 as a civil penalty.
On September 19, 2014, the Commissioner entered into a Consent Order with Bridgepoint Mortgage LLC (NMLS # 1009871) (“Bridgepoint Mortgage”), Clinton, Connecticut. The Consent Order was based on an investigation by the Consumer Credit Division. As a result of such investigation, on May 28, 2014, the Commissioner issued a Notice of Intent to Issue Order to Cease and Desist, Notice of Intent to Impose Civil Penalty and Notice of Right to Hearing against Bridgepoint Mortgage. The Commissioner alleged that Bridgepoint Mortgage failed to file certain annual information required by mortgage call reports, in violation of Section 36a-534b(c)(3) of the Connecticut General Statutes. As part of the Consent Order, Bridgepoint Mortgage paid $2,500 as a civil penalty.
