Section 36a-145 of the Connecticut General Statutes requires certain applications for a branch, or for a limited branch at which loans will be made, be accompanied by a plan detailing how adequate services to meet the banking needs of all community residents will be provided. Plans are submitted when such applications are filed and are available for public inspection and comment at this Department for a period of 30 days. NAME CHANGE
On August 5, 2009, pursuant to Section 36a-82 of the Connecticut General Statutes, Farmington Savings Bank, Farmington, filed an application with the Commissioner to change its name to Farmington Bank. Written objections to such application may be made, for a period of 30 days from the date of publication of this Bulletin, on the grounds that the name selected will tend to confuse the public.
ACQUISITION
On August 7, 2009, pursuant to Section 36a-184 of the Connecticut General Statutes, Alcar, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, filed an acquisition statement to acquire approximately 91% of the voting securities of Darien Rowayton Bank, a Connecticut Bank.

Order Revoking and Refusing to Renew Mortgage Broker License and Order to Cease and Desist
On July 27, 2009, the Commissioner issued an Order Revoking and Refusing to Renew Mortgage Broker License and Order to Cease and Desist (“Order”) in the Matter of: The Mortgage Connection LLC (“Respondent”). The Order revokes and refuses to renew Respondent’s mortgage broker license at 638 Garden Street, Trumbull, Connecticut, and was based on Respondent’s failure to maintain a surety bond in violation of Section 36a-492(a) of the Connecticut General Statutes. A copy of the Order can be obtained from the Department’s website.
Order Revoking Mortgage Lender License and Order to Cease and Desist
On July 27, 2009, the Commissioner issued an Order Revoking Mortgage Lender License and Order to Cease and Desist (“Order”) in the Matter of: Bergin Financial, Inc. (“Respondent”). The Order revokes Respondent’s mortgage lender license at 29200 Northwestern Highway, Suite 350, Southfield, Michigan, and was based on Respondent’s failure to maintain a surety bond in violation of Section 36a-492(a) of the Connecticut General Statutes.
