Recently Applied for Titles

The approximate processing time for the issuance of a title is 30 days from the date the vehicle is registered. Please see below for issuance information. 

  • If there is no lien on the title, the title will be mailed to the new owner (the name that appears on the registration).
  • If there is a lien on the title, the title is mailed to the lien holder.

Connecticut does not participate in any electronic title or electronic lien holder program and at this time is not able to receive an electronic title or lien holder record.

If you have not received your title, you have 90 days from the transaction date to re-apply for a title at no cost. Please fill out this form and mail it to DMV. Please mail the completed form to:

Once the form is received, DMV will verify the original title request was not completed before mailing out a new certificate of title.  The new title will be mailed within 30 days from your form is received.
