STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE REPORTED ARSON 

 POSSIBLE MURDER & ATTEMPTED SUICIDE, Griswold              

  STATE POLICE LODGE MURDER CHARGE

IN GRISWOLD CASE

After extensive investigation, the examinations of crime scenes and gathering of physical and forensic evidence into the death of the victim DENISE MUELLER DOB: 07/16/39 State Police Major Crime Detectives submitted an arrest warrant application to Superior Court in Norwich.  The warrant was issued by the court for the arrest of the accused.

On Thursday 01-08-09 at 9:56 a.m. State Police Detectives from the State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad formally charged  the accused Carson Mueller, DOB 12-20-74 with Murder in the death of his mother DENISE MUELLER with whom he resided.

Accused CARSON MUELLER who is presently incarcerated in the Custody of the Department of Corrections was transported to Norwich Superior court where he was formally charged by State Police.  He was processed at the courthouse and held on bond where he was arraigned in Superior Court today.

No additional arrests are anticipated.
