STATE POLICE MAKE

BANK ROBBERY ARREST

On Thursday, June 25, 2009, State Police Troop L and the Burlington Resident State Trooper’s Office responded to a reported bank robbery at the Farmington Savings Bank, at 253 Speilman Highway, Burlington, CT.  Witnesses and State Police investigation determined that a lone white male wearing a light colored shirt sunglasses and dark baseball cap, entered the bank and gave a note demanding cash to the teller.  The subject received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank on foot to a vehicle adjacent to the rear of the bank. 

State Police Detectives positively identified the suspect in the robbery as James Joseph Reynolds (date of birth 09-02-1960) 120 Birge Park Road (RT 4), Harwinton, CT.   Reynolds was determined to be wanted for a parole violation. All Law enforcement in the area were notified of the Robbery and the wanted subject.  On June 27th Torrington Police located Reynolds in their town. He was taken into custody without incident and remanded to the custody of Parole Personnel.

State Police Western District Major Crime Detectives continued the investigation recovering and processing evidence in this case.  Detectives submitted an arrest warrant application for the arrest of the accused to Superior Court.  The arrest warrant was issued by the court.  The accused who is presently in custody was transported to Superior Court in Bristol where he was formally arrest by State Police Detectives today. The accused was presented at Bristol Superior Court today on these charges. 

ARRESTED: REYNOLDS, James Joseph DOB: 9/2/60

CHARGES:   Robbery 3rd 53a-136 , Larceny 3rd 53a-124,

The accused was held on  a court set bond of $250,000.

No additional arrests are anticipated in this case.
