                  STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE STUDENT VS STUDENT THREAT

Today 05/19/09 at 1:30 p.m. State Police Troop-H and the school  resource trooper were advised that the school E.C. Goodwin Technical School in New Britain had received telephone information of a possible student on student threat that might involve a weapon.

The school administration placed the school into lockdown and notified the School resource Trooper of the threat. Additional State Troopers responded to the school and initiated a criminal investigation.

The School resource trooper and responding troopers identified the issue reported and also identified all possible involved students. These students have been detained and interviewed by State Police .

No event took place, there are no injuries, and no weapons involved in this incident.

No arrests have been made and the case remains under investigation by State Police.  

The student body was dismissed by the school administration.

The entire school facility has been searched by School officials and State Police. No weapons  were located.

The investigation is continuing.
