Bank Robbery, Deep River

   

   Today, Monday- March 9, 2009 at approximately 12:45 p.m. a Bank Robbery was reported to the State Police at the Liberty Bank located at 151 Main Street (Route 154) in Deep River, CT.

   Troopers responded to the area, secured the scene and searched the surrounding area. It was determined that the assailant had left the scene after committing the Bank Robbery. Preliminary information indicated that the assailant left on foot but witnesses identified a smaller red (candy apple red) passenger vehicle (similar to a Honda Accord) leaving the area which may or may not have been involved.

   Witnesses described the assailant as a black male approximately 30 to 40 years old, approximately 5’10” and wearing a knit hat, a blue Yankees hooded sweatshirt with a white t-shirt visible along the waist line, grey pants and glasses.

   There were no injuries reported at the scene. No weapon was seen. An undetermined amount of money was taken.
