FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

05-16-2008                            UPDATE

STATE POLICE CONCLUDE SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT INVESTIGATION

On 05-15-2008 a five-year–old child from Hebron reported to state police that she had been given a ride from in front of the family home located on Brighton Rd. in Hebron, CT to a nearby residential neighborhood. State Police investigators attempted to develop leads and information relative to this complaint.

Today 05/16/08 the young girl admitted to State Police Detectives that she had voluntarily walked away from her home on her own in an attempt to go visit a friend who lived in an adjoining neighborhood.

State Police detectives met with the young girl’s friend and confirmed the validity of this  new information. This case has been closed and it has been determined that the original complaint was fabricated by the child

The Connecticut State Police are appreciative of everyone who provided information and cooperated with state police detectives to help bring this case to a successful conclusion.
