State Police Investigating the Untimely Death

of a 7 Month Old Infant, Mansfield

On Monday evening, May 19, 2008 at approximately 7:54 p.m. the State Police (Troop C) was notified by Emergency Medical Services that an unresponsive 7 month old child was being transported by ambulance from at a private residence located at 260 Stearns Road in the Town of Mansfield to Windham Memorial Hospital.

Upon arrival to Windham Memorial Hospital the child was transported via Lifestar to Hartford Hospital.

At approximately 10 p.m. the child died while being attended to by medical personnel at Hartford Hospital.

The State Police are conducting an Untimely Death investigation into this incident. State Police Detectives have been assigned to this investigation and are currently awaiting the results of a post mortem examination to be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. ###end###
