SUSPECT IN MASSACHUSETTS ARMED, ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION
ARRESTED IN FOXWOOD CASINO

On Wednesday, June 4th, 2008, at 1:30 p.m,. a suspect wanted for the armed, attempted abduction of another person in the state of Massachusetts was taken into custody by Connecticut State Police Detectives at Foxwoods Casino in Ledyard CT after a search of the casino was conducted by the State Police and security.

On Wednesday, June 4th, 2008, just prior to noon, a “be on the look out” (a.k.a. B.O.L.O.) broadcast went out via police radio systems that the Massachusetts State Police were attempting to locate and take into custody a suspect (possibly armed) who had been involved in an attempted abduction in Massachusetts. A description of the suspect and his vehicle were included in this broadcast.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., an off duty Connecticut State Trooper who had been monitoring the B.O.L.O. broadcast spotted the suspect vehicle near the Foxwoods Casino parking lot.  The off-duty Trooper notified Troop E and all Troopers in the area about the location of the suspect vehicle. Uniformed and plain-clothed Troopers quickly located the suspect vehicle unoccupied in the “Rain Maker” parking garage. The suspect’s vehicle was secured by State Troopers as additional State Police detectives began searching the casino for the suspect.

The suspect was located in the casino and taken into custody without incident by State Police detectives. The accused was transported to Troop E, where he was processed and held on bond. He will be arraigned in Superior Court GA 10 in New London on June 5 for a charge of being a Fugitive from Justice.
