                           CONNECTICUT STATE POLICE

                 THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY SOBRIETY CHECKPOINTS

   Connecticut State Police will enhance normal routine patrol force with additional State Troopers over the Thanksgiving weekend.

   State Troopers will patrol all roads and highways across Connecticut to focus on drunk driving violations and to also target aggressive drivers.

   In addition SOBRIETY CHECKPOINTS will be set up at the following locations:

Wednesday, 11/26/08      5:00 p.m., Rt. 69 & Rt. 68 in Prospect

                                      7:00 p.m.,Rt. 6 & Rt. 64 in Woodbury

Friday, 11/28/08              5:00 p.m.,  Rt. 8, exit 24 in Beacon Falls

Saturday, 11/29/08          5:00 p.m.,  Town of Killingly

   The Connecticut State Police are committed to reducing crashes through preventive enforcement initiatives such as safety spot checks at sobriety checkpoints.
