STATE POLICE MAKE ARREST FOR INTERFERING

Today, Friday, 04/25/2008, at approximately 11:45 a.m., State Police Detectives assigned to the Western District Major Crime Squad served an arrest warrant charging the accused in this case with Interfering with an Officer, in violation of Connecticut General Statute 53a-167a.

This criminal investigation stemmed from the investigation into the disappearance of Mary Badaracco (DOB: 03/11/46). Badaracco was reported missing from her Sherman, CT home by her daughters in August of 1984.  Badaracco has not been located and she was declared legally dead in 1991.  The State Police Major Crime Squad has had an open active criminal investigation into the disappearance of Mary Badaracco since that time.

In September of 2007, State Police submitted an application to Superior Court for a search and seizure warrant in this case. Superior Court issued the warrant to search the rear yard of a home located at 17 Farrell Road in Newtown, Connecticut,a home that was formerly owned by the accused Dachenhausen.

The property underwent extensive excavation and during the search, several items were seized as evidentiary exhibits.  State Police Detectives have developed several leads and have developed information in this homicide investigation as a result of that excavation.

ARRESTED: Ernest Dachenhausen (DOB: 07/14/42)

                       4 Hillside Rd

                       Danbury, CT

CHARGE: Interfering with Police

The accused is being held on a $75,000 court set bond pending his arraignment at Danbury Superior Court on Monday 04/28/08.

   This investigation is ongoing.
