STATE POLICE LOCATE AND ARREST 
                        
SUSPECT FOR MASSACHUSETTS KIDNAPPING 

   Today, 05/28/08, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Connecticut State Police was contacted by members of the Massachusetts State Police who reported that a subject wanted in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for kidnapping his daughter on 05/26/08 might presently be in the State of Connecticut.  

   Massachusetts State Police investigators provided investigative information to Connecticut State Troopers regarding the Massachusetts criminal case and also relayed information that they presently held an extraditable warrant for the accused in this case to charge him in Massachusetts with kidnapping his 9-year-old daughter.

   The Connecticut State Police East Lyme Resident State Trooper and Major Crime Detectives were assigned to initiate the criminal investigation in Connecticut. At approximately 11:30 a.m., Resident State Trooper Sergeant Blanchette located the suspect vehicle at a commercial establishment on Rt. 161 in East Lyme. The missing 9-year-old girl was found content and in good condition seated in the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect was located by Connecticut troopers inside the commercial establishment doing minor renovation work.

   The accused was taken into custody without incident and he was transported to Connecticut State Police Troop E, Montville where he was processed and is presently being held on $500,000 bond. The accused will be presented in Superior Court GA #10 New London on 05/29/08

   The 9-year-old child was transported by Connecticut State Troopers to be turned over to Massachusetts State Police and returned to her guardian
