            STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE BOMB THREAT AT OXFORD SCHOOL

   State Police are investigating a bomb threat at Great Oak Middle School, 50 Great Oak Road, Oxford.

   The school principal notified the school resource officer at 1:42 p.m. of a note containing a bomb threat.  State Police Troopers and Oxford Constables immediately responded to the school.

   Students and staff were evacuated to Quaker Farms Elementary School.  Great Oak Road in the area of the school was closed for less than an hour while a search was conducted.  Three (3) State Police Bomb dogs responded to the school and conducted a sweep with negative results.  Fire and EMS personnel were on standby, but were not needed.  The school was reopened at 3:06 p.m. No injuries were reported.

   An investigation of the incident led to the arrest of a student (juvenile) for the following charges: falsely reporting an incident, 1st degree, and breach of peace, 2nd degree.
