STATE POLICE SCHOOL RESOURCE TROOPER

MAKES SEXUAL ASSAULT ARREST

On 01/18/08 the School Resource Trooper at Lewis Mills School in Burlington received a report of a possible inappropriate internet “My Space” relationship. The report indicated that the accused who was 21 years of age was involved with a 12 year old.

A criminal investigation was initiated by the School Resource Trooper into this complaint. He was assisted in this investigation by Troopers at Troop-L and the State Police Computer Crimes Unit. Investigative information was developed in this case that led investigators to apply to Superior Court for a search and seizure warrant.  The search warrant was executed and evidence was seized from the Griswold residence in Bristol.  The investigation determined that the accused was involved in an inappropriate relationship with the 12- year old.  

As a result of facts and circumstances uncovered in this criminal investigation an arrest warrant application was submitted to Superior Court GA #18 in this case.  The court issued the arrest warrant for the accused.  The accused was contacted and given the opportunity to surrender to State Police.

Today 01/29/08 at approximately 11:30 a.m. the accused arrived at State Police Troop at Troop-L Litchfield to surrender in this case.

CHARGES:    Sexual Assault 1st   (2cts)

                        Sexual Assault 4th   (2cts)

                        Risk of Injury to Minor (2cts)

                        Enticing a Minor (2cts)

The accused GRISWOLD was processed at Troop-L and was released on $ 150,000 court set bond to appear at GA # 18 Litchfield on 0/30/08.
