Inmate Incarcerated at Webster Correctional Institution in Cheshire

is Arrested Along with Female After an Escape

On Monday July 21, 2008 at approximately 12:21 p.m. an inmate incarcerated at the Webster Correctional Institution in Cheshire escaped from custody while on a work detail outside the facility across the street from the correctional Institution.

A civilian noticed the inmate climbing over the fence and meeting up with a female on the outside of the fenced in area. Notification to the local police (Cheshire Police Department) promptly resulted in the capture of the inmate. Cheshire Correctional Facility went into lock down due to this incident.

The female party was also detained as part of this incident. She was located and detained at a local park on Route 10. State Police Troopers and Detectives responded to the scene to conduct a criminal investigation into this escape incident and troopers took custody of both of these subjects. A vehicle driven to the area by the female was subsequently located and seized by the State Police. Both accused were arrested by State Police for this incident

         charged with Escape from a Correctional Institution

        and transferred to Northern Correctional in Somers, CT

ARRESTED:      Theresia OHARA   age 31    d.o.b.   09/03/1976

                           23 Upper Road, Stafford Springs. CT

         charged with Interfering with Police and is being held on Bond

         with a court date of  07/22/2008 at G.A. 7 in Meriden

The investigation is continuing
