                      STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE BANK ROBBERY

   Today, shortly after 3:41 p.m., State Police at Troop L received an alarm reporting a bank robbery had just taken place at the National Iron Bank located on Bee Brook Road in Washington, CT.

   State Troopers responded to the scene.  A search of the area was undertaken by responding State Troopers who also utilized State Police K-9 teams in the search. All surrounding police agencies were advised of the armed robbery and were provided with a physical description of the suspect. 

   Witnesses at the bank were interviewed by State Police. Witnesses described the suspect as being 5’10” tall, with a thin build.   The suspect was wearing a full face ski mask and displayed a handgun and the suspect fled from the back door of the bank in an unknown direction. There were no injuries at this robbery scene. 

   The crime scene was secured and State Police Western District Major Crime Squad Detectives responded to initiate the criminal investigation into this robbery.
