                             ARRESTS AND SEIZURE OF NARCOTICS

                                       ON UCONN STORRS CAMPUS

The Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force working with the University of Connecticut Police Department conducted an undercover narcotics investigation into person(s) suspected of bringing heroin from the Hartford area to distributing the heroin in the UCONN area. 

On 04/15/08 shortly after 8:00 PM,  State Police undercover narcotics investigators and Uconn Police investigators interrupted a drug transaction that was about to take place in a University of Connecticut parking lot.  During this investigation Narcotics Investigators  Seized:  200 bags of heroin, 1.7 grams of marijuana and a scale. The estimated street value of these narcotics is $3000

Both accused were taken into custody during this operation.

Arrested: 

Stephen H. Laurencin age 19 of 123 Clark Street, Hartford, CT

        Charges:   Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin With intent to sell, Possession of Marijuana, Possession drug paraphernalia

        Bond:   $150,000

Arrested: 

Alimahad A. Isa, age 21, of 83 Mayflower Street, Hartford, CT

          Charges:  Conspiracy to poss heroin, Conspiracy to sell heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia

          Bond: $25,000

Both accused were processed and transported to the State Police Barracks -Troop C in Tolland. Both  accused will be presented in Superior Court at GA 19 in Rockville today on 04/16/08.
