                       SUSPECT WANTED BY STATE POLICE

Suurendered to State Police as on 4 p.m. on May 15th, 2007 

Anthony Stago

On 05/14/07 shortly before midnight this suspect was stopped for motor vehicle violations. The Trooper obtained operators license information from the driver.  As the Trooper was continuing with the investigation he asked the suspect to exit the car. The suspect suddenly drove off at a high rate of speed with the Trooper hanging from the driver’s door. The Trooper fell and tumbled to the ground as the driver fled the scene.  A search for the suspect was conducted by State Police assisted by Waterbury Police.

State Police applied to Superior Court in Waterbury for an arrest warrant to charge the suspect with several criminal and motor vehicle charges. The arrest warrant was issued by the court. Several attempts were made to contact the accused to surrender to State Police. The suspect has not been apprehended at this time.

Suspect identified as: STANGO, Anthony M.   DOB: 5/10/88

State Police are seeking to take this suspect into custody. State Police are asking anyone who knows the whereabouts of this suspect is asked to contact State Police at (203) 267-2200 all calls will be kept in confidence.

This subject surrendered himself to the State police at Troop A just after 4 p.m. today.
