Attempted Murder Arrest fron Dec. 28,  2007 Incident in Ledyard

Location of Incident:  6 Baron Dr. Ledyard, CT

Date of Incident: 12/28//06

     On 12/28/06 at approximately 1:00 A.M. Troopers from Troop E in Montville and the Ledyard Police responded to 6 Baron Dr. Ledyard for a report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims, one having sustained several stab wounds. The victims were subsequently transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad responded and investigated.

     As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was applied for by Detectives for Eric Huertas, date of birth 03/04/81 last known address of 6 Baron Dr. Ledyard, CT. On January 12, 2007 Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad, with the assistance from the US Marshal’s and New York City Police located Eric Huertas at a residence in New York City. Eric Heurtas was taken into custody and arrested by the US Marshals as a Fugitive From Justice from the State of Connecticut. Eric Huertas was held in New York pending his extradition proceedings.

     On 1/26/07 Eric Huertas waived extradradition in New York and was turned over to State Police Detectives and was transported back to Connecticut. Eric Huertas was transported to Troop E Montville where he was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder, Assault 1st, Assault 3rd and three counts of Risk of Injury to Minor. Eric Huertas was held in lieu of a $500,000 cash bond pending his arraignment at GA 10 on 01/29/07. ###end###
