SECOND ARREST MADE IN REGARDS TO INVESTIGATION
INTO A DEATH IN THOMASTON

   On February 21, 2007 an investigation into the death of a John WALTHER was prompted went WALTHER was found deceased in his vehicle on Route 8 northbound in Thomaston, CT.

   Detectives from the Western District Major Crimes Unit were assigned to this investigation. As a result of that investigation arrest warrants were obtained and the following arrest(s) have occurred:

   On August 17, 2007, a Debra LEBLANC, age 48, DOB 12/06/1959, of Torrington, CT, was arrested and charged with manslaughter, illegal sale of heroin, cruelty to person and making a false statement. LEBLANC was held on a $250,000 bond and presented in court (G.A. 4) in Waterbury on 08/20/2007.

   On September 6, 2007, an Anthony CASCELLA, age 41, DOB 08/23/1966, of Torrington, CT, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of heroin, cruelty to persons, making a false statement, and operating while under suspension. CASCELLA, who is currently incarcerated on unrelated charges, was brought to court (G.A. 4 in Waterbury) and presented on these charges.
