                               CONNECTICUT STATE POLICE APPREHEND
                               AND ARREST TWO NEW JERSEY ESCAPEES

During the evening hours at approximately 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night, a Connecticut State Trooper stopped a car for motor vehicle violations on Route 8 southbound in Beacon Falls, CT.  The stop and subsequent investigations of the vehicle and occupants revealed that the operator and passenger were both wanted by the Trenton New Jersey Department of Corrections for Escape from custody.

Both suspects attempted to elude Connecticut apprehension by providing State Police with false names. State Police using the Live Scan Fingerprint Technology System identified both escapees.  

Both subjects were charges as Fugitives from Justice. They were processed at Troop-I in Bethany and held on $100,000 bond. Both accused will appear in Derby Superior Court today 02/23/06.
