         STATE POLICE MOTORCYCLE UNIT TRAINS & GRADUATES

                  NINE MUNICIPAL MOTORCYCLE POLICE OFFICERS                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

   Today nine Local Police officers were issued graduation certificates after completing an intensive 3-week motorcycle police officers training course. The Connecticut State Police Motorcycle Unit provided this training course.

   The ceremony was held at State Police Headquarters with Colonel Edward Lynch and several local police command officers in attendance.  

   This training program covered all aspects of Police Motorcycle Paroling.  The training provides the police officers with the confidence and skills required to ensure their safety and to utilize the motorcycle to enhance public safety.

   This is the second motorcycle class that was trained in 2006 by the Connecticut State Police. The total number of  local police motor officers trained for patrol in 2006 is 16.
