                             STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE STABBING

On 07/14/06 at approximately 1:15 a.m., 911 calls were received by police reporting a fight in progress in the parking lot of the Golden Palace Restaurant located on Rt. 32 in Montville.  Montville Police Officers and Troop E State Troopers responded to the call.  Upon the arrival of police, those involved in the fight left the scene.

At approximately 2:00 a.m., Backus Hospital Emergency Room personnel notified State Police that a stabbing victim from a fight in Montville had been brought to the emergency room for treatment and had been transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital with non life threatening injury.  State Police Troopers and Montville Officers responded to the E.R., conducted interviews and initiated a criminal investigation.

The victim is a 27-year-old Voluntown resident.

The State Police Major Crime Squad Detectives responded to conduct this criminal investigation. This stabbing incident appears to be an isolated situation.

Connecticut State Police Detectives are pursuing information and leads. This investigation is continuing
