                    STATE POLICE MISSING PERSON INVESTIGATION

                         RESULTS IN SEX ASSAULT ARREST

On 05/01/06 at approximately 3:30 p.m. State Police Troop-K Colchester responded to a complaint of a missing 13-year-old female from her home in the Town of Hebron.  State Troopers responded to the home and obtained initial information about the 13 year old from the missing girls mother . Troopers learned that the missing girl was supposed to leave for school via school bus on Monday but that she never got on the bus and did not go to  school.  State Police initiated a missing person investigation. 

State Police Major Crime Detectives responded to the residence to assist in this investigation. State Police  Investigators developed information about the missing 13 year old girl, that she used the website my space.com and that she had recently developed a relationship with a 27 year old male.

State Police identified the male suspect and Investigators advised all surrounding police departments of a description of the missing 13 year old and the suspect’s car. State Police also requested that all police agencies attempt to locate the suspect’s car and to check area hotels for the suspect car.  Shortly before midnight a Portland Police Officer on patrol located the suspect’s car at a Portland Motel.

State Police and Portland Police Officers responded to that location and entered the motel room. Police located the 13-year-old missing female and the 27-year-old male suspect.  State Police took the male suspect into custody. The suspect was transported to State Police Troop- K where he was processed and held on bond.

The 13 yr old female was transported to Middlesex hospital where she was treated and released to her parents.

CHARGES: Sexual Assault 2nd

                     Risk of Injury to a  Minor            

The accused is being held on $750,000 bond and will be presented today 05/2/06 in Superior GA# 9 Middletown, CT.  The investigation is continuing.
