2006 CONNECTICUT K-9 OLYMPICS

This year’s annual Connecticut K-9 Olympics will be held Saturday, July 15, 2006 between 8 a.m. and  4 p.m.on the Depot Campus of the University Of Connecticut, located off Rt. 44 (near the intersection of Rt. 32) in Mansfield. 

K-9 teams made up of State Troopers, Police Officers and Corrections Officers and their trained canine partners will be competing for the Top K-9 Team of 2006. Teams will test their knowledge, ability, marksmanship, strength and stamina in such exercises as obedience, obstacles, simulated apprehension and handler protection.

In addition to the competition, there will be static displays by police, fire, corrections, emergency services and local businesses.

The Connecticut Child Identification Program (CHIP) will be at the event to provide ID packets for any child. This includes fingerprints, photograph, video tape and dental bite impressions.

Food, beverages and t-shirts will be available for sale.
