                        STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE SUSPICIOUS DEATH

On 10/19/06 at approximately 12:50 a.m. Connecticut State Police Troop-A Southbury received a complaint that there was an unresponsive male located off of Judd Bridge Rd. Roxbury, Ct in the Battle swamp trail Preserve which is owned by the Roxbury Land Trust.

State Troopers and EMS personnel responded to the scene.  The unresponsive male was located and EMS personnel pronounced the male dead at the scene.  The area was secured by State Police Troopers and the State Police Western District Major Crime Squad responded to conduct an investigation into this death.

State Police Detectives processed the scene gathering physical and forensic evidence. A weapon was recovered at the scene. The deceased male was identified as a 35 year old New Milford resident.

A post mortem examination was conducted today by the Office of the Chief State’s Medical Examiner.  The medical examiner has ruled this death a suicide by gunshot to the head.

State Police Detectives have ruled this case to be non-criminal. This investigation is closed.
