                          STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE BOMB THREAT

Today 02/01/06 shortly after 9:30 a.m. three telephone bomb threats were received at the Eli-Whitney Technical School inHamden,CT. A male caller made the three calls that threatened damage to the school building.

The Connecticut State Police and the Hamden Police were immediately notified of the threat.  The administrators of Eli-Whitney Technical School evacuated the student body and staff from the building.

State Police Emergency Services K-9 teams and Troopers from Troop-I Bethany responded to the scene to initiate an investigation.   Hamden Police Officers also responded to assist at the scene.

The entire facility was searched utilizing the K-9 teams and nothing was found. The students were allowed to return to classes   

A criminal investigation into this threat has been initiated by State Police Troopers who will be assisted by State Police Detectives.

The investigation is continuing.
