                                                      Putnam BANK ROBBERY

On 11-30-2006 at approximately 4:21 PM Troop D Danielson Troopers responded to the Westbank located at the Stone Wall Commons 7 Providence Pike (Route 44) Putnam CT. for a reported bank robbery.  State Troopers responded and searched the area for the suspect.

Witnesses described the robber as a white male in his early thirties 5’11 to 6’0” tall thin build, deep voice, with light colored eyes either blue or green.  The suspect was wearing a gray and blue hooded poncho, blue on bottom, long in length and a light colored cloth or hat over his face with eye holes cut out of it. The suspect implied that he had a gun.

The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and ran into the wooded area behind the Advanced Auto Parts Store east of the bank on Route 44.

The suspect fled the bank with security dye packs in the money. If anyone has information regarding the bank robbery or any suspicious activity in which someone is in possession of money that is dyed with a red color they are encouraged to contact detectives at Troop D Danielson 860-779-4900 or the Crime Tips Hotline at 860-779-4944.
