State Police Investigating Bank Robbery in Chester, CT

    On Tuesday, 11/07/2006, at approximately 1:23 p.m. a Bank Robbery was reported from the New Alliance Bank located at #9 Water Street (Rt. 148) in Chester, CT.

    State Troopers and State Police Detectives responded to the scene and area. A State Police K-9 team was also dispatched to the area. All surrounding police agencies were notified of this incident and provided information learned at the scene.

    Initial information indicates that a lone perpetrator described as a white male approximately 6’ tall entered the bank at approximately 1:20 p.m. wearing jeans and a green hooded sweat shirt and a stocking mask. The suspect displayed a handgun and jumped the teller counter. The suspect fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. There were no injuries reported during this incident.

    Witnesses at the scene reported to the State Police Detectives that a silver or grey colored Volkswagen Jetta was scene leaving the area (northbound on Rt. 148) and that this vehicle may have been operated or occupied by a female.
