NEWS RELEASE

    On 08-04-2006 at approximately 12:32 PM the Plainfield Police Department responded to the area of Sunnyside Farms Convenience Store on Route 205 in Wauregan, CT for a reported attempted abduction of an eleven year old boy. While riding his bicycle the child was grabbed by an unknown thin white male approximately 5’10-6’0” tall. The male was wearing a blue and yellow baseball cap, black carpenter style pants, a red and black short sleeved shirt and black fingerless gloves. The child struck the male and rode away. Prior to grabbing the child the male exited what is believed to be an older model Chevrolet Monte Carlo color black. The vehicle’s paint is faded, scratched and dented. The license plate appeared white with blue numbers/letters.

     The child was able to escape and was not injured. A composite sketch of the unknown male is attached. Anyone with information is urged to call the Connecticut State Police at Troop D Danielson at 860-779-4900 or the Crimes Tips Hotline at (860) 779-4944.
