               STATE POLICE STATEWIDE NARCOTICS TASK FORCE

                           MAKE NARCOTICS ARREST AND SEIZURE

WATERBURY--On 03/20/06 the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force in the course of conducting a narcotics investigation, was attempting to make an undercover purchase of marijuana from a male suspect. The purchase was set to take place in a commercial parking lot in Waterbury during the late evening hours.

The accused arrived and did attempt to sell the Statewide Narcotics Investigators approximately 50 lbs of high-grade marijuana. During the course of the narcotics transaction the investigators assisted by Waterbury Police attempted to place the accused under arrest. As they were about to take him into custody he fled on foot.  Investigators pursued the accused a short distance and took him into custody without incident. 

The accused was transported to Troop-a Southbury where he was processed. The accused was released after posting $100,000 bond. The accused is slated to appear in Superior Court GA #4 Waterbury on 03/29/06.
