Bank Robbery in Chester, CT

     On Wednesday , Nov. 15, 2006, at approximately 10:06 a.m. a bank robbery was reported at the New Alliance Bank located at #9 Water Street (Rt. 148) in Chester CT.

      Initial information indicates that a lone perpetrator described as a white male approximately 5’8” with a stocky build,  wearing a gray fleece jacket, baggy jeans, sunglasses and hat with a red bill entered the bank displaying a handgun. The perpetrator demanded money and received an undetermined amount. The perpetrator fled from the bank on foot in an unknown direction carrying two bags.

     Their were no injuries during this incident.

      State Troopers and State Police Detectives responded to the scene and general area. K-9 teams and Trooper One (the State Police helicopter) also responded to the scene to assist in the search.

      The State Police Major Crime Squad is investigating this bank robbery. On Nov. 7, 2006 there was a similar robbery at the same location which is also being investigated.
