Summer Fishing Classes

Summer fishing class with CARESummer Fishing classes run from late June through August focusing on summer day camps. Summer Fishing classes are conducted each morning and afternoon, taught by seasonal staff, and run for approximately 2 hours for 20-30 students per session. These classes use interactive games to teach aquatic ecology, fish identification, safety, pollution, knot-tying and casting. Classes conclude with a fishing experience!

Improved environmental awareness and an introduction to fishing are the primary benefits. CARE continues to investigate ways to include the families of students who participate in these programs. We hope to get more adults involved by educating about the fishing opportunities located in close proximity to their neighborhoods.

Summer camps that are interested in incorporating fishing into their activities should contact the CARE Center at 860-663-1656.
