COVID-19 - Connecticut Fire Academy Operational Update (3/12/2020)

Due to the escalation of COVID-19 virus now a Pandemic, extraordinary measures are being taken statewide to protect our citizens and first responders.

The Connecticut Fire Academy (CFA) is taking a pause in program delivery for all training and certification activities.  In order to protect and ensure our first responders are available for emergencies in their local communities, effective Monday, March 16, 2020 we are postponing all training and certification testing activities for a minimum of two weeks.  We will continually evaluate our options to resume full activities and reschedule impacted programs and examinations.

Future announcements will be posted regularly through the CFPC Listserv and our website WWW.CT.GOV/CFPC, in addition students registered through our online registration system will receive notifications through that portal. We are aware that some of the online learning system’s email (https://ctlms-cfa.ct.gov/) are going to student’s spam folder. Please make sure you are looking at all emails.

Further, Fire Officer Weekend at the National Fire Academy scheduled for March 20-22 is postponed and will be rescheduled, we expect to receive alternate dates as early as tomorrow.

As permitted by our Regulations, Students already in the queue for certification testing will be granted 3 additional months to complete all testing components.

The Commission on Fire Prevention & Control – Connecticut Fire Academy is committed to ensuring students are safe and receive quality services.  Our offices & the Bookstore will remain open and staffed.  Thank you for your patience and cooperation during these unprecedented times.
