Fire Act Grass Roots Support Effort

Fire Service Colleague:
The Fire Service needs your help if the FIRE Bill is going to become law.
While they tell us they support the FIRE Bill none of the major Fire Organizations have assumed the leadership role needed to coordinate the grass-roots movement necessary for passage of the FIRE Bill.
The major Fire Organizations have barely mentioned the FIRE Bill in their newsletters. The majority of their members are not aware of the FIRE Bill or what action they should take in order to get the FIRE Bill passed.
It is apparent from the lack of leadership in the Fire Service that something must be done if we are going to get the FIRE Bill passed.
WHAT CAN WE DO
WE MUST START AND COORDINATE A GRASS
ROOTS MOVEMENT ACTION PLAN:
1. We will divide the country into 5 regions of 10 states each. There will be a Regional Coordinator for each region. The Regional Coordinator will be the contact between the states and the other Regional Coordinators.
2. We will need a State Coordinator for each state. The State Coordinator will coordinate all state activities and be the contact with the Regional Coordinator.
3. We will need 5 or more County Coordinators in each state. They would coordinate all activities in their area and be the contact with the State Coordinator.
If you are interested in being a coordinator please send the following information to me at the above address or fax the information to 914-962-4103:
NAME ADDRESS TELEPHONE NUMBER |
NAME OF FIRE DEPARTMENT or FIRE ORGANIZATION BEST TIME TO CALL YOU |
If you do not want to be a Coordinator we still need your help. Please read the attached material and send letters to your US Senators asking them to introduce or support a FIRE Bill in the Senate.
Also, send a letter to your Congressional Representative asking for his/her support for the FIRE Bill. If your Congressional Representative is already a co-sponsor send a letter thanking him/her for the support and ask him/her to vote for the FIRE Bill.
REMEMBER IT IS OUR FUTURE AND THE FUTURE OF THE FIRE SERVICE THAT IS AT STAKE.
