This committee came into  being following a  joint federal Administration for Community Living/Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration Policy Academy.  Members of the Department of Aging and Disability Services - State Unit on Aging, the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and the Department of Social Services attended this academy and formed a state committee to produce short and long term goals related to the mental health needs of the older adult population.
