Approved Curriculum Development Courses for Department Chair - (Endorsement #105)

Important - Please Read

Connecticut regulations, Section 10-145d-579, specifically call for a candidate to meet the following requirements in order to be eligible for the Department Chairperson endorsement:

  • Hold an appropriate Connecticut certificate;
  • Hold a master’s degree or have completed 30 credits in addition to a bachelor’s degree;
    • Have completed, in the total post-baccalaureate program:
    • At least six semester hours of graduate credit in instructional supervision and school administration;
    • At least six semester hours of graduate credit in curriculum development; and
    • At least six semester hours of graduate credit in the area for which the endorsement is sought; and
  • Have completed 30 school months of successful teaching experience.

NOTE: Please be aware that the below list is not exhaustive; it only includes courses offered through Connecticut institutions which have been approved to date. For consideration of courses other than those identified below, please submit an official course description to teacher.cert@ct.gov.

Courses may not be offered every semester. Course availability must be verified with the individual colleges and universities.
