DSS Field Offices are open to the public weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The busiest times of the month are usually first three days and last three days of the month.  You are welcome to visit any Field Office for service, regardless of where you live in Connecticut.  Our customers can also access benefit and application information, 24/7, at www.connect.ct.gov and www.ct.gov/dss/apply; or 1-855-6-CONNECT.

What is VRI?

DSS’s Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) is the on-demand service that provides communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing persons and hearing persons that are in the same location, utilizing an interpreter by way of a computer with a webcam and Internet connection or a tablet using a cellular connection.
