State Police Detectives Investigate Suffield Police-Involved Shooting

   Suffield, CT. (April 13, 2017):  Connecticut State Police Detectives from Central District Major Crime are investigating a police-involved shooting in Suffield.

   On April 13, 2017 at approximately 12:30 p.m. during the course of a motor vehicle stop, an interaction occurred with an occupant of the stopped vehicle resulting in an officer firing at least one round striking the party.  The party was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

   The Suffield Police Officer was not shot and was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

   At the request of the State’s Attorney’s Office, Detectives from Central District Major Crime responded to the scene and have assumed the investigation.  The name of the deceased party is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.  The name of the officer is being withheld at this time.

   Suffield, CT. (April 17, 2017):  State Police detectives from Central District Major Crime continue to investigate the Suffield Police Department police-involved shooting.

   The suspect has been identified as:

Thomas Gezotis (dob 9/26/59)

no certain address

West Springfield, MA. 

The name of the officer is being withheld at this time.
