Connecticut State Police - Computer Crimes Unit  and Hartford Parole & Community Services - Special Management Unit Make Arrest following Enticing a Minor Investigation

On March 28, 2017, a 13-year old juvenile became a victim of sexual enticement in Tennessee as a result of online contact with Cunningham. Cunningham also attempted to have the Tennessee victim travel to Hartford, CT via bus in order to engage in sexual contact. This information was forwarded to the Hartford Parole and Community Services and the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit.

The Computer Crimes Unit assisted by Hartford Parole started an undercover investigation related to the on-line enticement complaint.  Between April 11, 2017 and May 2, 2017, undercover troopers and Cunningham continued to communicate, with Cunningham making arrangements for the presumed 13 year old victim to travel to Hartford for sexual contact in exchange of cash.

On May 2, 2017 at approx 11:15 a.m., detectives from the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit, along with Hartford Parole Officers, arrested Cunningham at Union Station in Hartford, CT without incident.

Cunningham was transported to Troop H-Hartford where he was charged with: Attempted Sex Assault 2nd degree, Enticement of Minor, Risk of Injury/Impairing Morals of Minor 53-21, Felony Patronizing Prostitute, and Computer Crime 3rd.

Cunningham was transported to Hartford Correctional Center for presentiment at Hartford Superior Court on May 3, 2017. Cunningham is being held on $250,000.00 cash bond.

Andrew Cunningham is currently on Parole and a registered sex offender in the State of Connecticut related to a 2014 criminal case where he travelled from Connecticut to the State of Illinois and had sexual contact with a female minor victim resulting in a 2015 conviction for Aggravated Sexual Abuse.
