Troop I-Bethany Labor Day Weekend DUI Sobriety Checkpoints and Roving Patrols

Beginning Thursday, September 1st, through Monday, September 5th, 2016, during the evening hours, State Troopers from the Connecticut State Police, Troop I - Bethany Barracks will conduct roving DUI patrols on Interstate 91 and Route 15 in the North Haven area, Interstate 691 in Meriden and on Route 8 in the Shelton area.

These roving DUI patrols during the Labor Day Weekend are part of a continuing effort by State Police personnel to identify motorists who are operating vehicles under the influence of liquor and/or drugs.

The roving DUI patrols will be in operation for several hours.  State Troopers will be stopping vehicles for moving violations as well as equipment violations in order to locate operators driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

In addition, a sobriety checkpoint will be conducted on I-691 in the town of Cheshire on September 3rd, 2016 during the evening hours.

Lieutenant David DelVecchia, the Commanding Officer at Troop I, in Bethany, reminds motorists that Connecticut State Troopers are extremely vigilant in their DUI enforcement efforts and that the State Police will have extra State Troopers on duty to concentrate on DUI enforcement.
