State Police Detectives Make Arrest in 10 year Old Homicide

On January 28, 2006 a deceased black male was located in a field in the area of 428 Shewville Rd. in the town of Ledyard. The male was later identified as Anthony Hamilin (dob 3/16/65).
Troopers from Troop E-Montville and Ledyard Police responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. State Police detectives from Eastern District Major Crime (EDMC) also responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

Over the past decade, State Police detectives have followed up on multiple leads and conducted numerous interviews. Through the course of this lengthy investigation State Police detectives recently developed information linking the suspects to the death of Anthony Hamlin.
State Police detectives applied for, and were granted, an arrest warrant from the superior court for one suspect, Timothy P. Johnson.

 On October 6, 2016 at approximately 2:30 p.m. Timothy P. Johnson turned himself in to Troop E. Johnson was fingerprinted, photographed and held on bond pending his court date.
This investigation is a collaboration of several state, local and federal agencies.
The investigation is continuing and state police detectives anticipate additional arrests.
