State Police Detectives Investigate Willimantic Homicide

           Willimantic, CT. (November 12, 2016): State Police detectives from Eastern District Major Crime are investigating a homicide reported in Willimantic.

            On November 12, 2016 at approximately 3:00 a.m. police officers from the Willimantic Police Department responded to 38 Pulaski CT. in Willimantic for a reported disturbance.  Upon arrival officers located a male suffering from life-threatening injuries and provided first aid.  EMS responded to the scene and subsequently pronounced the male deceased. 

            State Troopers from Troop K-Colchester also responded and assisted Willimantic Police with securing the scene and conducting a search of the area for other victims, none were located.  Troopers and state police and Willimantic Police K9 teams also assisted Willimantic Police with conducting a search of the area for the suspects.

            At the request of the Willimantic Police Chief and the State’s Attorney Office, state police detectives from Eastern District Major Crime responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. 

            The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) will also assist in the investigation.  The OCME will conduct a post-mortem examination to determine cause and manner of death.

            The name of the victim is being withheld pending positive identification and next of kin notification.

            The suspects are described as two Hispanic males wearing baggy clothing.  Both males were observed running from the scene and one of them may be injured and is bleeding.

UPDATE #1

          Connecticut State Police detectives from Eastern District Major Crime are seeking two persons of interest in this case.  They are identified as Juan Chach (dob 5/19/92) and Ignacio Chach-Aperez (dob 7/1/90).  It is believed they are no longer in the area.

Victim ID is pending positive identification and next of kin notification.

           The investigation is continuing.

UPDATE #2

        Through the course of the investigation investigators identified two suspects.  Investigators applied for and were granted Arrest Warrants from the superior court for the two suspects wanted in this homicide, and seek their whereabouts.  It is believed that the suspects are no longer in the area.
