State Police Make Narcotic Arrest

On 03/14/11 the State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force was conducting a narcotics investigation off Meriden Rd. in Waterbury. Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, Narcotics investigators had obtained an arrest warrant for the accused to charge him with Sale of Narcotics.

The accused, William Rhinehart (DOB: 06/12/1979) of 73 Mohawk Street in Waterbury was located in a driveway in the east end of Waterbury, CT. 

When confronted by State Police Narcotics Investigators accused Rhinehart attempted to flee from Detectives.  Accused Rhinehart was effectively “boxed” in in the driveway but did manage to drive a short distance on the lawn before throwing a package out the window of the car later identified as 200 grams of cocaine. The accused continued to try to flee on foot but was apprehended by narcotics detectives. The accused was arrested on the warrant and charged with Sale of Cocaine and Possession of Cocaine.

In addition the accused was also charged on-site with Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Sell, Possession of Cocaine, Interfering with Officers, Tampering with Evidence, Reckless Endangerment, Criminal Mischief 2nd, Failure to Obey Officers Signal, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of narcotic Paraphernalia. 

Narcotics Detectives went to 1550 Highland Avenue, Unit #2 in Waterbury, and conducted a search of this residence in relation to this investigation.  State Police Investigators located among Rhinehart’s possessions approximately $15,000.00 in cash and a small amount of crack cocaine and marijuana.

                                                             

The accused was transported to Troop A in Southbury where he was processed and held on bond to appear in GA #4 Waterbury to answer these charges.
