Suffolk County Police Make Arrest

In North Stonington Connecticut Death

On 12/4/09 a motorist driving in the vicinity of 6 Jeremy Hill Road in North Stonington discovered the burning human remains of a female subject. The deceased female victim was later identified as Rebecca Foster (DOB 6/12/85) of Medford New York.

A murder investigation was conducted by Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad Detectives, North Stonington Resident Troopers Office, and Suffolk County New York Detectives. Investigators from both agencies collected physical evidence and developed leads in this case.

On 02/08/2010 Suffolk County Police located and arrested Evans Ganthier (DOB 1/20/80) of Central Islip, New York.   Suffolk County Police Detectives arrested Evans Ganthier and charged him with second degree murder in the death of Rebecca Foster.

Rebecca Foster, who was murdered in New York, was transported by accused Ganthier to Connecticut where her body was dumped along the side of Jeremy Hill Road in North Stonington and set on fire.

No additional arrests are anticipated in this case.
