State Trooper Involved In shooting

The Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad and the Judicial District of Danbury State Attorney’s Office is investigating an officer involved shooting which resulted in one fatality.

State Troopers were assisting Danbury PD in a stolen motor vehicle pursuit which turned into a foot pursuit.  A life-threatening situation ensued resulting in a trooper discharging his weapon.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending identification and notification of next of kin.  The deceased will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy.

The trooper was treated and released from Danbury Hospital for minor injuries.

Danbury PD is assisting with this continuing investigation.
