State Police Make Arrest In Middletown

Today at approximately 1:00 p.m. a State Police Detective observed accused Joshua Amaral DOB 07/22/1984 in a parking lot at 1271 Washington St. in Middletown.

The Detective knew accused, Amaral, to have six (6) outstanding Failure To Appear felony and misdemeanor warrants.  It appeared that the accused was preparing to flee.

Additional Troopers from Troop F Westbrook responded to assist in approaching and apprehending the suspect.

The suspect attempted to flee on foot from the Troopers and ran into a nearby apartment climbing onto the roof of the building threatening to jump rather than go back to prison.  The State Police Detective was able to convince the subject to surrender to Troopers.

The accused was transported to Troop F Westbrook where he was processed on all 6 Failure to Appear warrants.  He is being held on a $50,000 court set bond.  The accused will be arraigned on 12/17/10 at Superior Court GA #9 in Middletown.
