STATE TROOPER INJURED IN MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT

 

    On July 28, 2009 at approximately 12:28 am, Trooper John Scannell was travelling northbound on Buff Cap Road, in the town of Tolland, while responding to a call.  Trooper Scannell attempted to negotiate a curve  and lost control of his vehicle, striking a tree on the right side of the roadway.   Trooper Scannell sustained multiple injuries and was transported by the Tolland Fire Department to Hartford Hospital.  The vehicle, a 2007 Crown Victoria, CT Registration 704UTZ, sustained heavy damage to the front end and was towed to A&M Auto.  The accident is currently under investigation.
